Anwar El Ghazi was on the scoresheet as Aston Villa recorded a 2-0 win over Newcastle United in Monday night’s affair at Villa Park.
Conor Hourihane made the breakthrough just past the 30-minute mark, before El Ghazi doubled the home side’s advance nine minutes before the end of the first period.
The win moved Villa into 15th spot in the table and will leave them full of confidence ahead of next weekend’s trip to Manchester United.
El Ghazi has now scored three times in 12 Premier League outings this season, in addition to providing three assists during a successful start to the 2019/20 campaign.
According to WhoScored, as well as his goal, the Netherlands international boasted a pass success rate of 87%, which is impressive for a player in a wide position.
